What is the difference between a representative office and a branch?

A representative office is a subdivision of a foreign legal entity, which was created in order to represent and protect its interests. A representative office concludes all transactions on behalf of a foreign legal entity.
The branch, in turn, has all the functions of a representative office, but in addition to them, it can also conduct commercial activities (for example, engage in the sale of goods, the provision of services).
